David Lammy has been appointed as the UK's new Foreign Secretary after the Labor Party's landslide victory. Prime Minister Kier Starmer announced his name as a member of the new cabinet on Friday. This black Labor leader has another identity, he is a friend of former US President Barack Obama. 51-year-old David Lamy's ancestors were slaves in Guyana, Latin America. From that family he became one of the policy makers of UK. In a recent speech, Lammy said, 'I am going to be the first UK Foreign Secretary as a descendant of a family that was a victim of the slave trade. I will fulfill this responsibility seriously. David Lammy has been the Labor Party's international affairs spokesman for more than two years. He claimed to have traveled abroad more than 40 times during this time. The Labor leader also set a model for UK diplomacy. He named it 'Progressive Realism'. Lammy created this model by combining the pragmatic principles of the famous Labor Party foreign minister Ernest Bevin with the moral idealism of another foreign minister, Robin Cook. Bevin played a role in the formation of the military alliance NATO after World War II. He also led the UK to become a nuclear power. And Robin Cook successfully oversaw British operations in Kosovo and Sierra Leone. David Lammy is in favor of deepening the UK's co-operative relationship with the European Union. He also criticized the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union. In addition, he has always supported Ukraine in the war against Russia. He also wants a Palestinian state if peace is established in the Middle East.
