BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will address the stage again after a long period of almost seven years. The BNP chief will join the freedom fighter rally at the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Center in Agargaon in the capital as the chief guest on December 21. The rally will be held on the initiative of the Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters' Party on the occasion of the great Victory Day. About 1,500 to 2,000 brave freedom fighters will be present there. The Freedom Fighters' Party has completed all preparations in this regard. Khaleda Zia has already been invited. According to relevant sources, Khaleda Zia's presence at the rally will depend on her physical condition.
Earlier, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had last addressed a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 12, 2017, on the occasion of the 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, the BNP Chairperson did not deliver a speech despite attending a reception at Senakunj on November 21 to mark Armed Forces Day.
Some leaders of the Muktijoddha Dal told Kalbela on Saturday that on the occasion of the great Victory Day, we have decided to organize a freedom fighter rally with freedom fighters from all over the country. If everything goes well, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will be present there as the chief guest. All preparations in this regard will be completed before the scheduled time. They said that this time a freedom fighter rally is going to be held in a different atmosphere and in an open environment. In the past, meetings and gatherings could not be held properly during the rule of the fascist Awami government. But with the fall of the autocratic Sheikh Hasina on August 5, a new atmosphere has returned to Bangladesh. Now there is no fear of attacks, cases and harassment like before. That is why we expect one and a half to two thousand freedom fighters from all over the country to participate in the rally on December 21.
When asked, BNP Chairperson's press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan told Kalbela that I have learned that the Muktijoddha Dal will hold a freedom fighter rally at the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Center in Dhaka on December 21. If the physical condition is good, Bangladesh's first female freedom fighter and first female Prime Minister BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will be present as the chief guest, InshaAllah.
Rally in two border districts next week: Meanwhile, BNP is taking a tough stance against India's interference and stance in Bangladesh's internal affairs. The issue has been made clear in the recent statements and some steps taken by the party's leaders and activists. Now, BNP has decided to hold rallies in two border districts, Panchagarh and Jamalpur, to make the people of the country aware and awaken them against Indian propaganda about Bangladesh.
It has been learned from research that anti-India sentiments in BNP started increasing even before the 12th National Parliament elections held on January 7. But the party did not go to any program. Although there were rumors that there might be some kind of compromise between the two sides in the changed political context after August 5, nothing of the kind has been seen in reality. BNP has given a kind of warning to the country by marching and submitting memorandums to the Indian Embassy in three BNP organizations and by marching towards Agartala. Several leaders of the party believe that the message has been given about India's strong response to the support of the fallen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and that the BNP is united on the issue of independence and sovereignty, regardless of party affiliation. Through these programs, the BNP's strong anti-India stance has been made clear to the people and foreigners.
BNP Chairperson's Advisor Abul Khair Bhuiyan told Kalbela that after the July-August mass uprising, the Indian media has been spreading unbridled propaganda against Bangladesh. They are continuously spreading baseless and imaginary news with the aim of embarrassing the student-people's government formed on the basis of national consensus in the wake of the mass uprising. There is a fear of disruption of international peace and security due to their propaganda and rumors.
It is learned that the BNP is analyzing recent events out of great concern over India's continued negative behavior and reaction towards Bangladesh since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the mass uprising. The leaders further observed that they were surprised at how the political leadership of a large democratic country like India could stand against the aspirations of the people of independent and sovereign Bangladesh for a particular party and individual. The issue was also discussed in detail in the last few meetings of the BNP Standing Committee. The leaders said in the meeting that the role of the head of the fallen Awami League government, Sheikh Hasina, is behind the unstable situation that has been created around the Hindu community. By associating with her, the Indian authorities are creating instability in various ways. In this regard, the BNP says that on the one hand, they want friendship with India at the diplomatic level, and on the other hand, they will also be vocal against their negative activities. The recent meeting of the Chinese ambassador and the Pakistani high commissioner in Dhaka with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is also considered significant by observers. This meeting took place at a time when anti-India sentiment has strengthened in Bangladesh. It is also considered to be a special polarization in regional politics.
BNP's International Affairs Associate Secretary Dr. Shakirul Islam Khan told Shakil Kalbela that the Indian government has failed miserably to protect diplomats as per the Vienna Convention. The way the Bangladesh High Commission and Assistant High Commission in Agartala and Kolkata were attacked and the national flag torn is a severe blow to the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. In addition, some leaders of various Indian political parties have made provocative statements that violate diplomatic etiquette in Bangladesh's internal affairs. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself has insulted Bangladesh's sovereignty by saying that peacekeeping forces will be sent to Bangladesh. In this case, BNP, as the main political party in Bangladesh, cannot remain silent.
It was learned that BNP will hold a rally in Madarganj Upazila of Jamalpur on December 19. BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan will be present as the chief guest there. After that, BNP will hold a rally on December 22 at the Sakoa High School grounds in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh district near the border. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be present as the chief guest and will deliver a speech there. In the meantime, a preparatory meeting has been held at the initiative of all the affiliated organizations including Boda Upazila and Municipal BNP. Panchagarh District BNP Member Secretary and Central Rural Development Affairs.
