He said this at a public reception organized in the three hundred feet area of Purbachal after returning home on Thursday.
Quoting a famous speech by American human rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., Tarique Rahman addressed the leaders and activists, "Dear brothers and sisters, have you not heard of Martin Luther King? He has a famous dialogue, I Have a Dream. Today, standing on the soil of Bangladesh, as a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, I want to say in front of all of you—I have a plan, for the people of my country, for my country." This plan is for the benefit of the people of the country, for the development of the country, for changing the fate of the people of the country.
Seeking everyone's cooperation in implementing the plan, he said, "Today, I need the cooperation of every person in this sea of people, the power of democracy in this entire Bangladesh. We need the cooperation of every person. If you stand by us, if you cooperate with us, Insha Allah we will be able to implement 'I Have a Plan'."
After finishing his 15-minute speech, he waved to the leaders and activists and exchanged greetings. Then, returning to the microphone again, the acting chairman of BNP reminded them of his plan and said, "Remember, we have a plan. We have a plan for the people and for the country. Insha Allah we will implement that plan."
After Tarique Rahman's 'I have a plan' comment, curiosity has arisen among BNP leaders and activists to know the party chairman's future plans.
