Acting Chairman of BNP, Tariq Rahman

Tarique Rahman said this while virtually participating in a workshop titled '31 Points for Repairing the State Structure and Public Engagement' at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Kakrail auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.

This top BNP leader gave instructions to the leaders and activists at the workshop. During this time, he discussed various issues including the 31 points, the future governance of Bangladesh, and eliminating unemployment.

He said about the 31 points, that this is the point of how BNP wants to run the country in the future.

Tarique Rahman said, "There is an opportunity and potential to create new job-oriented sectors outside the garment and remittance industries in Bangladesh. We will officially encourage it so that more people can join outsourcing."

Regarding reforms, he said, BNP's concern for the country and the nation, when no one thought about these issues of the country, BNP gave 27 points.

Tarique Rahman said, we are a party that has run the country. Maybe we could not do many things. Maybe we did a lot. At that time, he mentioned the contribution and decisions of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman's government.

At that time, he called on the leaders and activists to take the 31 points to the marginal level. The top BNP leader also called for a courtyard meeting at the village level regarding the 31 points.

Quoting a leader of the Chhatra Dal of Titumir College, Tarique Rahman said, if the people are not economically and politically liberated, then no matter what reforms we do, none of them will be useful. Political liberation is accountability to the people. Whoever does whatever they want will not be able to do it. Be it the government party, the opposition party, MP, minister, they will have to answer to the people. To ensure this, the right to vote must be established. Accountability is created through voting, said the BNP acting chairman.

Regarding employment, Tarique Rahman said, there are more than one crore unemployed people in the country. We have the opportunity to create new sectors outside of garments and remittances. I try, but I can't do it that fast. I will be able to reduce the problems to a large extent. Not everything will happen overnight. Let's come forward a little bit from the position of everyone in the country. If everyone tries, Insha Allah, we will be able to do something good.

National Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moin Khan spoke at the workshop. Dhaka divisional level leaders and activists gave their opinions.
