More difficult times ahead: Army Chief-news focus bd

 Bangladesh Army members are working day and night to maintain law and order in the country's critical times. There are more difficult times ahead. If everyone works together, it is possible to rescue the country from this critical time, said Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman. He said this at the reception of freedom fighter army members and the distribution of army peacetime medals at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday (December 1).

The Army Chief expressed his gratitude to the freedom fighter army members for their participation in the War of Independence and their contribution to the formation of the army after the country gained independence.

He said, the army stands today as a result of your contribution. The army is doing a lot of good work during the country's crisis. The country and the nation are grateful to this army. The army members are working day and night to maintain the law and order of the country. Moreover, we are engaged in various tasks of building the country and the nation.
He further said, "We are working in the UN mission to maintain world peace. We are working in disasters and relief. We have achieved excellence. This has been possible as a result of your dedicated efforts. The way you have trained us, motivated us, and guided us, is the reason why the army is where it is today. Its credit and contribution are yours."

Seeking prayers from the freedom fighter army members, the Army Chief said, "There is still time ahead, we will have to go through a difficult time. Please pray so that we can take the country and the nation to a better place, a safer place."

Congratulating the peacetime medal winners, the Army Chief said, "If we all work together, Insha Allah, we will be able to rescue the country from this critical juncture. We will be able to move towards a peaceful, orderly future." The Army Chief presented medals to 28 army members in recognition of various heroic deeds during peacetime in the 2023-24 fiscal year. Out of which 5 received the Army Medal, 5 received the Outstanding Service Medal and 18 received the Distinguished Service Medal.

In addition, General Waqar-uz-Zaman exchanged greetings and gifts with the freedom fighter army members and their close relatives at the titled and heroic ceremony.
