An era has passed since the murder of Kishori Felani at the Phulbari border of Kurigram, but there is no trial yet. The judicial work of the case related to this brutal murder, discussed in the country and abroad, is pending in the High Court of India. Even after a long time, Felani's parents are still waiting for justice.

On January 7, 2011, Felani, a 15-year-old girl from Dakshin Kolnitari village of Nageshwari Upazila in Kurigram, was killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF). Today Saturday marks 12 years of this murder. Early that morning, Felani was returning home with her father Noor Islam through the Anantapur border of Phulbari in Kurigram with the help of Indian brokers. Felani was shot dead by BSF member Amiya Ghosh while crossing the barbed wire fence with a ladder. His body was then left hanging on the barbed wire fence for at least five hours. The body of the teenage girl Felani hanging on the barbed wire stirred the media of the country and abroad.

Felani's father. Noor Islam told Prothom Alo on Friday, "I went to India with my family to look for work in the world of poverty. BSF member Amiya Ghosh killed my daughter in front of my eyes at the Indo-Bangladesh border while coming to Bangladesh through the barbed wire through a broker to marry her (Felani). I left the girl's body on the barbed wire and ran away. After that, my daughter's body was hanging on the barbed wire for five hours.
